Seller's description

1980s beige tan vintage leather envelope clutch. Made of genuine leather. Has an alligator style print and a little loop to close the clutch. Very sleek, great for summer and the neutral tone goes with anything. Measurements: Bag is 9.5" long x 6.5" wide with a 1.5" gusset. Clean, minimal wear with aging and some cracking in the leather at the clasp portion from bending it to close the clutch. Stored in a smoke free home.

Evidence

POSITIVE
  • photo 3: clearly a leather clutch with a flap, gusset, interior zip pocket, and small metal closure hardware.
  • photo 4: interior stamp visibly reads “Made in Italy” and “Genuine Leather,” supporting Italian leather manufacture but not Coach manufacture.
  • photo 1: construction and dimensions are consistent with a small envelope clutch.
  • photo 3: unlined suede-like interior with zip pocket is consistent with older leather bags generally, but not specific to Coach
NEGATIVE
  • photo 1: alligator-style embossed leather and a minimal strap-and-loop closure do not match a recognizable classic Coach model shown in the reference catalog.
  • photo 3: no visible Coach creed patch, wordmark, horse-and-carriage mark, or Coach-style identifier.
  • photo 4: the visible stamp says only “Made in Italy / Genuine Leather,” with no Coach branding or serial number.
  • photo 3: fabric-lined interior and brown zipper are more consistent with a generic Italian leather clutch than an unlined vintage Coach classic.
  • photo 3: interior shows open envelope with snap closures, no turnlock, no creed patch
  • photo 4: interior stamp reads Made in Italy / Genuine Leather - generic format, no COACH wordmark, no lozenge, no No. line
  • photo 1, photo 2: croc/alligator-embossed coated leather finish, not vintage Coach glove-tanned cowhide
  • photo 1-4: no COACH wordmark, no horse-and-carriage, no hangtag, no brass turnlock visible
MISSING INFORMATION
  • photo request: straight-on photographs of every interior wall and pocket for any hidden creed or brand label.
  • photo request: close-ups of the closure, zipper pull, and any exterior or interior stamps.
  • photo request: bottom, side seams, corners, and strap/closure attachment points.
  • Seller-stated 1980s dating is not independently verifiable from the photographs.
  • no Coach creed patch visible in any photo - interior stamp shown is generic
  • no exterior bottom/side close-ups for full condition check
  • no hardware brand stamps shown
AUTHENTICITY CONCERNS
  • ⚠ photo 4: the only legible manufacture marking is a generic “Made in Italy / Genuine Leather” stamp, providing no evidence of Coach manufacture.
  • ⚠ photo 1: the embossed crocodile-style finish and generic envelope construction are common on lookalike or unbranded leather bags.
