Seller's description

I had to have this purse when I found it from a local estate. As you can see inside the flap it looks like Dana did some writing with a pen! Leather is in excellent condition, I don’t see a manufacturer mark, there is an anchor on the buckle. Unfortunately the strap broke after I originally listed this so I had to cut it off. It does however now make an adorable clutch. The brass rings are still intact if you want to add a strap. It would look cute with the wide woven straps that are trending now.

Evidence

POSITIVE
  • photo 1: leather flap handbag with brass-tone hardware is within the broad population of vintage leather bags that can sometimes be Coach.
  • photo 3: solid-looking brass-tone buckle hardware and leather strap are visible.
NEGATIVE
  • photo 1: the flap is covered with extensive handwritten pen and marker personalization; no Coach wordmark, horse-and-carriage, creed, or hangtag is visible.
  • photo 2: the front closure is a strap-and-buckle design rather than a recognizable Coach turnlock.
  • photo 3: the large rounded buckle and strap construction appear unlike the classic Coach hardware and silhouettes shown in the reference catalog.
  • photo 5: the interior shows no visible Coach creed patch, serial/style number, country line, or brand label.
  • photo 6: the bag has a distinctive western/saddle-style construction with riveted lower trim, not a clear Coach catalog match.
  • seller states that no manufacturer mark is seen; this is weak supporting context only and cannot substitute for a visible identifier.
MISSING INFORMATION
  • Straight-on photo of the entire interior emptied, including all pockets and seams, to rule out a concealed label.
  • Close-up photographs of the cut strap ends and all hardware for maker marks.
  • Bottom, side, and corner photographs for a more complete condition assessment.
  • Seller-stated dimensions and approximate original purchase or production date.
AUTHENTICITY CONCERNS
  • ⚠ No Coach identifier is visible despite clear, adequately lit views of the exterior and interior.
  • ⚠ The buckle, strap closure, riveted construction, and western/saddle silhouette are inconsistent with the most recognizable vintage Coach handbag designs.
  • ⚠ The missing/cut strap materially changes the original configuration and reduces confidence in model identification.

hardware description Brass-tone rounded buckle closure, brass-tone rings/rivets, and a small greenish patina visible around some hardware; no Coach engraving visible.
leather description Brown smooth-to-moderately textured leather with substantial surface wear, scratches, darkening, and extensive pen/marker writing on the flap.
lining description Interior appears leather or leather-like and unlined; a light-colored interior pocket/flap is visible, but materials and full lining cannot be confirmed.
strap construction Adjustable leather strap with buckle and rings; the main strap has been cut/removed, leaving the bag usable as a clutch according to the seller.
stitching description Visible perimeter and strap stitching appears functional but somewhat heavy/rustic; detailed stitch consistency at all seams is not visible.
